(Vintage shirt from my friend, SM Dept Store jeans, Hand-me down bandana, Quizno's Sanwich YUUUMMM, Chucks)

This was taken last Saturday at Bonifacio High Street. I'm usually there for the Ukulele Manila Meet. Stum. Jam. meet ups (which always ends up with us doing street performances. always a blast). This'd be my normal get up. Pants + Band shirt (or muscle tee) + Sneakers (sometimes oxfords but i never wear heels on off duty days). It's actually a bit weird. If you asked me a few months ago what my normal get up is, I'd probably tell you Short shorts + Tee + Vans. I'm not sure whether or not my style has evolved or it's just the season. Well, maybe it's the season. It's so cold now.

My normal routine for uke meet ups at BGC would be to go buy a sandwich from Quizno's first and then go to the meeting place. I love Quizno's, okay. So happy when I found out there's one in the Philippines already. I used to eat a lot of Quizno's in the States.

LEGO! Who doesn't love legos? It was pretty amazing seeing lego towns since I've only ever made crappy lego nothings as a child. Look at that lego skyscraper, man.

This is me performing an impromptu set for the crowd at BGC! It's funny because I'm never actually prepared. I just sing a few songs for my friends in Ukulele Manila but I always end up performing a whole set because a lot of people stop to watch. It's so awesome. Best feeling ever, performing for no reason. It blows my mind that people who actually don't know me, would stop and listen to me sing. Ya'll should go join us sometime. It's okay if you don't have a ukulele yet, We'll lend you one. Come join us, meet new friends. Jam!

I'm potentially designing a line of shirts with Perfect White Shirt. I'm so excited about that. We still have to plan things but I will tell you if it's 100% sure na, as soon as we work things out. :)

I have been getting a lot of questions about my iPhone case! Yes, I made it! Not really, more like decorated it. It's really easy. I didn't even plan it! I have this iPhone case that's too girly with pearls and bows and stuff and I just felt like I should have an iPhone case that's screams ARIA. Then, I realized I had no money. So here's how the idea came to me...

I was at school and we were having Physics Lab (which was really boring). I was fidgeting with my phone and I got really annoyed with the ribbon, so i removed the ribbon... which created an awkward hole on the case. I had to cover it somehow. So, I grabbed the masking tape from my bag (we needed masking tape for the experiment in class) and I covered the hole. I put masking tape across the surface and it wasn't enough to cover the hole. So, I did it again... and again... and again... and then the next thing I know, the whole case was covered with masking tape. Oh well.

When I got home, I looked at my case again and I realized that I liked it. And then, I took a sharpie. I wrote "COOL KIDS CAN'T DIE" on it. I put my twitter username on the side and then I drew a bunch of triangles and crosses (omg look it's hipster aria) on the other side. And then, VIOLA! I had a one of a kind iPhone case! Easy right? You don't need to have a lot of money to have cool stuff.  You probably have masking tape at home and a black permanent marker... GO AHEAD AND PERSONALIZE YOUR STUFF! You can write a bunch of different quotes or even doodle behind your case. My case was textured (it had pearls) so it turned out a bit rough but it worked out fine. This could also work with plain, smooth cases.

What happens when you get bored of it? Remove the masking tape or add a new layer of tape to cover up the old doodle or quote and then draw a new one! Cool huh? You only need one case! Re-decorate it every week! Go crazy. It's FREE! (i'm getting carried away)

PS: Sharpies are awesome. You'll be surprised on how much stuff you could do with sharpies. :D

It's not a secret that Taylor Swift has probably read our diaries. She's in every teenage girl's playlist. She gets a lot of hate because "she can't sing live". For me, she might not be the most powerful vocalist around but MAN, can she write songs! I thought I'd make a Taylor Swift playlist today since her new album, Red, is out already. Here are some of my favorite songs from Red and her old albums:

• Come Back, Be Here •
• White Horse •
• By The Way (this song is unreleased so just click here to hear it) •
• If This Was A Movie •
• Begin Again •
• Enchanted •
• Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran) •
• Superstar •
• I Almost Do •
• Better Than Revenge •
• State Of Grace •
• Last Kiss •
• State Of Grace •

If you're going to buy (or illegally download) her album, make sure you get the digital booklet, too. If you don't already know. She has (not so) secret messages in the lyrics. She randomly capitalizes some letters throughout the song and when you put it all together, it spells out a name, a quote or a place. It's the best part of her album, honestly. Her music videos are A+.

My favorite secret message would be the one from State Of Grace which is, "LOVE YOU DOESN'T COUNT AFTER GOODBYE." And the sweetest one would be the secret message in Back To December which is, "TAY." (Taylor Lautner) :">

She wrote the theme song of all the girls which is, You Belong With Me! Admit it, at one point in your life you had that moment in your room where you just dress up, look at the mirror, turn up this song and sing so loudly into your hairbrush like it's a microphone. (I still do that, no shame.) You probably have stayed up till 2am, staring at the ceiling, listening to Taylor Swift songs, making music videos / impossible scenarios in your head (if you're a girl, of course). If not, you may be a robot.

Superstar! Every girl's song to their celebrity crush.
(*cough cough* one direction, justin bieber, logan lerman, etc, etc, etc.)

By The Way is an unreleased song. It's one of the most beautiful ones I've ever heard.

I would explain why I love all these songs but you probably know that's because I could relate to them.
What's your favorite taylor swift song and why? Tell me through a comment :D

Love love love!

PS: Check out (this video) of Taylor Swift performing Back To December when Taylor Lautner was watching (Staples Center, August 2011). She changed the lyrics in the end. Makes me cry everytime. They should've videotaped Taylor Lautner's reaction! Enjoy drowning in your own puddle of tears.

Behind the scenes on my photoshoot at Edward Dela Cuesta's studio :)

Channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn... I don't think it's working.

Black wedges from Nava. Socks from Japan. Skulltape Accessories skull bracelet. Mustache ring from Zuleika.

(Lifeguard top and round glasses from Star City, Tailor made high waisted shorts, Converse shoes)

I got a new camera!!! Canon S-100. I didn't even know I needed one until I bought one. Anyway, I did a shoot today because I needed new headshots. This is what I wore on the way to the studio.

I am very happy to say that I bought the shirt from Star City for 100php. It was a big shirt because it was made for guys so I just cut it into a crop top. I got the round glasses for 50php. I get giddy whenever I find really cheap items.

Look at things differently.

I think I've mentioned it already on one of my previous blog posts. When my chucks or vans get old, I start writing on them. I'm very sentimental that way. I thought it would be nice to share this picture for inspiration.

Don't you hate being there for everyone when they need you but when you need them, they're not there? Like you have to be strong for everyone, but they never ask if you're okay. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ever felt this way. Just know that you're not alone :)

If you feel alone, just listen to music. Try to get busy. Do your homework, learn a new song, drink hot chocolate... I hope you never get suicidal thoughts. If you ever do, there is a suicide/depression prevention hotline here in the Philippines. I came across that on twitter. Finally, there's one in the Philippines.  Just remember, suicide is never the answer. You hear that all the time, i know... but it's true. You are loved. Pray :D

Spread the word! The first depression/suicide prevention hotline:

Call 804-4673 (HOPE)
Tweet them: @NGFoundationPH
(I was not paid to do this, I just want to spread the word.)

PS.: Smile! You're alive. If that's not something to be happy about, then I don't know what is.

Just wanted to share this beautiful short film/music video for Lana Del Rey's song, Ride. Enjoy!

“I was in the winter of my life, and the men I met along the road were my only summer. At night I fell asleep with visions of myself dancing and laughing and crying with them. Three years down the line of being on an endless world tour and my memories of them were the only thing that sustained me, and my only real happy times.

I was a singer-not a very popular one- who once had dreams of becoming a beautiful poet; but upon an unfortunate series of events saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on over and over again- sparkling and broken. But I didn’t really mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it to know what true freedom is.

When the people I used to know found out what I had been doing, how I had been living- they asked me why. But there’s no use in talking to people who have a home, they have no idea what its like to seek safety in other people, for home to be wherever you lie your head.

I was always and unusual girl, my mother told me I had a chameleon soul. No moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality. Just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean. And if I said that I didn’t plan for it to turn out this way I’d be lying-because I was born to be the other woman. I belonged to no one-who belonged to everyone, who had nothing-who wanted everything with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about-and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.

Every night I used to pray that I’d find my people-and finally I did-on the open road. We had nothing to lose, nothing to gain, nothing we desired anymore-except to make our lives into a work of art.

Live fast. Die young. Be wild, and have fun.

I believe in the county America used to be. I believe in the person I want to become. I believe in freedom of the open road. And my motto is the same as ever- “I believe in the kindness of strangers, and when I’m at war with myself-I ride. I just ride.”
Who are you? Are you in touch with all your darkest fantasies? Have you created a life for yourself where you’re free to experience them? I have. I am fucking crazy.

But I’m free.”

- Lana Del Rey.

This would be my first photobooth diary entry. I decided to make these because 1.) I have so much photobooth pictures in my MacBook and 2.) they kind of tell a story. Who says blogs are only for hi-res pictures? I know photobooth pictures are mostly selfies you take when you're bored. You'd think those pictures are worthless but it really isn't. Especially when you're viewing them 9 months later. Everything seems so different already. I don't know why but when I look at a picture, I remember how I was feeling that day, what I was thinking right before the picture was taken. See, I couldn't really explain it... until I read the book, Perks of Being a Wallflower. These passages really got to me:
"My Dad had glory days once. I’ve seen pictures of him when he was young. He was a very handsome young man. I don’t know any other way to put it. He looked like all old pictures look. Old pictures look very rugged and young and the people in the photographs always look a lot happier then you are. "
" I just hope that I remember to tell my kids that they are as happy as I look in old photographs. And I hope that they believe me."
Isn't that right? We all look somehow happier in old pictures. It's kind of funny sometimes how I look so happy in an old photo but I was really sad that time.

The picture above is another story. I was actually pretty happy that time. I was excited. This was taken on the morning of prom. February 2012. Ah, prom. The best night of your life as they all say. It seemed that way at that time. It was a cool night. To some people, it was the best night ever. To some people, it was a waste of time. The best thing for me though was the prom frenzy. Those days when you go to school and all you hear is, "What are you going to wear?" or "Who's doing your make up" or "Who's your prom date?". Prom definitely brought everyone together. Prom itself was a different thing. In a few years, would it even matter if you danced with the prom king? Would it matter if your gown was made by made by the most sought after designer of the country? Maybe. Maybe not. What really mattered to me was all the friends I made and the rush that made me feel so alive. Prom feels so distant already. Like it happened years ago when in reality, this picture was taken only nine months ago. I don't even remember half the people I danced with at prom. My closest friends have already graduated because they're a year older than me. Some of the people you hung out with nine months ago just pass you by at the hallways without even saying hi. It's like time moves so fast yet so slow at the same time. I guess the only way we could live well is to cherish every moment because after a few seconds it'll be gone. It'll be replaced by another. It's going to go on and on until one day you realize, you're 50. They say before you die, you get a flashback of all the things that happened in your life. Make it worth watching. Stop waiting. Get off the computer. Hug your parents. Be nice to your siblings for once. Apologize. Pray. Tell him you love him already. Take pictures. Go live your life. (cheesy but) YOLO!

PS.: Man, I miss my long hair.

(Top from Forever 21, Skirt from Abercrombie & Fitch, Roman sandals from Rustan's, Chaplin hat from Topshop)

Self timer is my only friend. Ha ha ha. Oh, the things I do to get good photos (they're not really good photos though). I wore this to my friend's birthday :D (YAY for the tsinelas on the side of the picture)

Oooh look at me! I'm wearing my favorite hat again. Don't I always? HAHA.

I love the back of this top! The side's a little too deep but it's still cute. Lately, I've been into black tops. Black tanks, black muscle tees, black crop tops and I always just seem to play with my shorts or skirts. I always have a black top and a playful bottom + accessories.

(Frienship bracelet from a greeting card, Skull bracelet from Skulltape Accessories, Gold bangle from Japan, Casio pink watch, Blue fabric bracelet from Quirkypedia)

Look at the original version of this outfit. Who says you can't play with prints? I've been mastering the art of stacking bracelets. It's so FUN.

I was about to go out but then I realized it was going to rain. (Well, it IS November.) So I just threw on this cargo jacket I got from Topshop and VIOLA! Everything's okay again. It's amazing how oversized cargo jackets could just look good with anything and everything. Definitely a must have!

Hope you guys had a wonderful October :)
We're down to the last 2 months of 2012! Let's make it count!
